Scott Brown: Does Ed Markey even live in Massachusetts?

Outgoing Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass., has yet to confirm whether he will run to succeed Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, should Kerry be confirmed to serve as the next U.S. secretary of state.

But Brown has one potential attack line at the ready if he finds himself up against Democratic Rep. Ed Markey in the near future. (Democrats have already coalesced around Markey as their chosen successor.)

"Does he still live here?" Brown quipped about Markey during an interview Wednesday morning on the "Jim & Margery" show on WTKK-FM in Boston. "You've got to check the travel records. I've gone back and forth every weekend [for] almost three years, and I've seen most of the delegation. I've never seen Ed on an airplane, ever," he said, eliciting laughter from the hosts.

Brown lost his re-election bid in November to Democrat Elizabeth Warren. He has hinted at a comeback through the special election to succeed Kerry, but he has yet to confirm his plans.

Brown sidestepped the issue when asked on Wednesday's show to reveal when he plans to announce his candidacy. "They’re making it awfully tempting," he said without offering further details.
