Ron Paul’s son is ‘probably’ not running for Texas Senate

It looks like we won't be able to call Ron Paul's family a Washington dynasty just yet.

A week after hinting he might run for Texas's open Senate seat, Robert Paul, the Texas congressman's son, now says he's unlikely to enter the race.

"I'm never going to say that I won't ever run for office," Robert Paul tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "But I think running for Senate probably is not going to happen this time."

Paul, who is Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul's younger brother, implied he's just not ready for public office.

"I'm honored that people think I'm ready to run, but I think they want me to run because I'm related to Ron Paul," Paul, a family medical doctor in the Fort Worth suburbs, tells the paper. "I think the biggest thing I have that's similar to my dad is that I'm honest."
