Ryan: Biden’s aggressive debate style ‘was what I expected’

LEXINGTON, Ky.—The morning after Thursday's vice presidential debate, Republican Paul Ryan said he "expected" the aggressive style Vice President Joe Biden used.

On Friday, the GOP vice presidential nominee began his postdebate morning by having breakfast at Josie's Grab & Go here with his wife and three children, where a reporter asked him if he felt "knocked around" during the contest.

"No," Ryan replied, according to the pool report. "It was what I expected."

During the debate, Biden largely played offense, often interrupting Ryan and throwing his arms and laughing while Ryan spoke. Aides on Mitt Romney's campaign called the behavior "off balance" and "strange," while President Barack Obama's campaign manager, Jim Messina, said, "It was the vice president having some fun."

Ryan next travels to Ohio for a joint rally with Romney.
