Will Palin run for president? Karl Rove and an Iowa tea party organizer say that signs point to yes

Sarah Palin has not yet said if she will enter the race for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, but Karl Rove, the former George W. Bush adviser, and tea party organizer Peter Singleton this weekend added their names to the list of people who think the former Alaska governor is poised to announce her campaign.

Rove said on "Fox News Sunday" that he would bet on it.

"Well, I'm not much of a gambler but I'd put a little more money that she gets in than if she doesn't, because of the schedule she's got next week in Iowa--it looks like that of candidate, not celebrity," Rove told host Bret Baier.

"You can only tease so many times in the political process, and I think she is getting to the end of that," Rove said. Palin previously said her decision would come in late August or early September.

Rove noted the video her political action committee released Friday, which reaches out to Iowa voters. That video "strikes me as pre-presidential campaign," Rove said.

Palin attended the events surrounding the Ames Straw Poll in Iowa last weekend, but she did not participate in the poll. Palin is planning to speak at the Tea Party of America's "Restoring America" rally in Iowa on Sept. 3.

Singleton, one of the organizers of that event, is telling people that he believes Palin is getting in the race. "We're confident she'll run, and we've worked to build that really strong grassroots base that you have to build for a candidate to be successful just in case she does," he told U.S. News & World Report.

"Labor Day will kick off the Republican campaign for the nomination," Singleton told National Review. "She is going to make a major, major speech."
