The TicketObama to release budget April 10
President Barack Obama's fiscal 2014 budget (finally) has a release date, White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters on Thursday: April 10.
By law, the president's blueprint for taxes and spending is technically due the first Monday in February, which this year was Feb. 4, but the deadline came and went without one. The date it would be released had remained a mystery, much to the ire of Republican lawmakers, budget watchers and others. Recently, the White House pegged the week of April 8 for the timing of the budget's release.
That it's being offered more than two months late is hardly lost on Republican lawmakers in Washington, who immediately reacted to the news. House Speaker John Boehner, for instance, tweeted:

Republicans have suggested the delay is politically motivated, saying the White House has tried to sidestep a difficult budget negotiation with Congress.
