Obama to men: ‘Go big’ on Valentine’s Day

President Barack Obama took a turn as a relationship-counselor-in-chief on Tuesday, telling men that they need to "go big" on Valentine's Day and suggesting he may have a somewhat less than unblemished record when it comes to celebrating February 14.

"Let me start with a quick public service announcement for all the gentlemen out there: Today is Valentine's Day," Obama said as he opened his latest remarks on the payroll tax fight in Washington.

"Do not forget! I speak from experience here. It is important that you remember this. And go big -- that's my advice," he said, to laughter from his audience in the South Court Auditorium of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building next door to the White House.
