Obama campaign: Romney bears ‘some responsibility’ for Trump stunt

DENVER—President Barack Obama's campaign officials are shrugging off the "big" announcement made by Donald Trump Wednesday that he would donate $5 million to charity if Obama releases his college records and passport application documents. But they think Mitt Romney should answer for Trump's actions.

"He has some responsibility for that behavior," a senior Obama campaign official said of Romney. "I'm not saying that everything Donald Trump said in his life Mitt Romney should be responsible for; that's a standard that no one should have to meet."

Trump publicly endorsed Romney in February and has joined him at fundraisers.
