Obama campaign reportedly doing oppo research on Chris Christie in case he runs for president

Some Republicans just won't give up on their dream of Chris Christie running for president in 2012—no matter how many times he says he won't. But it's not just those in his party who think the New Jersey governor might change his mind.

Sources tell the New York Post's Josh Margolin that President Obama's re-election campaign is doing opposition research on Christie just in case he decides to get in the race after all.

A spokesman for the Obama campaign did not respond to a request for comment.

Sources tell the Post that the Obama campaign has tried to keep its efforts on the down low, but in truth, most campaigns do some level of digging on all potential candidates, even longshots, just to be prepared.
