Mubarak says Obama doesn’t ‘understand’ what would happen if he leaves

In an interview with ABC's Christiane Amanpour set to air tonight, embattled Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak acknowledged the White House's calls for him to step aside sooner rather than later.

But while Mubarak praised President Obama as a "very good man," the Egyptian leader told Amanpour if he were to step aside the country would dissolve into further chaos.

"You don't understand Egyptian culture and what would happen if I step down now," Mubarak says he told Obama.
