Mitt Romney has a new campaign plane

LAKELAND, Fla.—Mitt Romney finally has his own campaign plane.

Just hours after Romney officially accepted the Republican presidential nomination, his campaign unveiled a MD-83 passenger jet painted with the slogan "Believe in America" and the address of Romney's campaign website.

The plane's tail also features the candidate's red, white and blue "R" logo, which has been compared to the logo for Aquafresh toothpaste.

Rep. Paul Ryan, Romney's vice-presidential running mate, will fly on a smaller version of the plane—though it features a less elaborate paint job.

Romney and Ryan will hold a convention send-off rally here in front of the planes on Friday morning. Romney's first trip on his plane will be to New Orleans, where he'll tour storm damage caused by Hurricane Isaac.
