Former campaign manager claims Bachmann doesn’t have ability, resources beyond Iowa

Two weeks after stepping down as Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann's campaign manager, Ed Rollins is continuing his media tour lobbing criticisms at his former boss' campaign.

On Monday, Rollins told MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell that even if Bachmann wins the GOP's Iowa caucus in January, he believes the congresswoman won't be able to build on that momentum.

"She doesn't have the ability and the resources to go beyond that--Iowa, at this point in time" Rollins said. He suggested that opponents Mitt Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, and Texas Gov. Rick Perry have the ability to compete in additional states.

Since Rollins left his fulltime role as a Bachmann adviser, he's taken a backseat role offering himself as adviser at the campaign's behest. But that hasn't stopped him from calling out the flaws he sees in the congresswoman's campaign.

Indeed, just before he stepped down as Bachmann's chief campaign manager, Rollins said that he believed the presidential race to be a two-person contest between Texas Gov. Rick Perry and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

Then last week, Rollins called Bachmann's decision to repeat a claim linking the HPV vaccine to mental retardation a "mistake."

"The quicker she admits she made a mistake and moves on, the better she is," Rollins told MSNBC last week.
