Eva Longoria raises more than $200,000 for President Obama

President Obama's no fan of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." But he just might have a soft spot for "Desperate Housewives," because one of the ABC show's stars has raised major bucks for his re-election bid.

Eva Longoria raised between $200,000 and $500,000 for the Obama campaign, according to records released Tuesday by the campaign as part of its report to the Federal Election Commission for the fourth quarter of 2011. The campaign voluntarily makes public the names of individuals who helped "bundle" $50,000 or more.

Longoria's name appears alongside those of more established political players like Steve Westly, the venture capitalist and former state controller of California, and Elizabeth Bagley, a former ambassador to Portugal.

The actress's support for the president is no secret. Last month, Obama's campaign touted an offer allowing contributors to enter a drawing for the chance to sit down and discuss "some of the issues that matter" with Longoria and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee.

In October, Longoria introduced the president at what was billed as Obama's first ever Latino fundraiser, held at the Spanish-style mansion of the actors Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith. Obama, said Longoria, "speaks to the Latino community because he knows he's the president of all Americans."

And in May Longoria told reporters she had been part of a small group that met with President Obama for a "brainstorming" session on immigration.

The list of bundlers also reveals that Jon Corzine, the former New Jersey governor and ex-chief of MF Global, raised more than $500,000 for Obama. The financial-services firm collapsed last fall, and an estimated $1.2 billion in customer money remains missing.
