And the champion of the Romney tepid endorsement challenge is …

For some time, it appeared that no one could defeat Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels in Yahoo News' Romney tepid endorsement challenge, in which readers vote on who has offered the least enthusiastic statement of support for the presumptive nominee. Daniels' characterization of Romney as ruthless and out of touch, which he delivered in an interview hours after formally endorsing the former Massachusetts governor, seemed too scathing for even former president George W. Bush to top.

But that was before we pitted Daniels against the ultimate foe: a bumper sticker bearing Romney's likeness that reads: "At least he's not a Communist!"

By a vote of 58 to 42 percent, Yahoo readers chose the bumper sticker over the Indiana governor. Long live the king.
