Today in TechSteve Jobs’ house robbed of $60,000 worth of computers, personal effects
Police in Northern California announced the arrest today of Kariem McFarlin, a 35-year-old Alameda man who stands accused of breaking into and robbing the home of ex-Apple guru Steve Jobs. According to police, McFarlin broke in while the house was vacant and under construction.
The alleged act occurred on July 17, 2012. The thief stole an estimated $60,000 in "computers and personal items" during the robbery. It's believed that McFarlin was unaware the home belonged to Jobs, who died of pancreatic cancer in 2011.
It's unknown what kind of haul McFarlin took in specifically, but we're willing to bet burglarizing Jobs' home is something akin to hitting the thieving lottery. After all, it takes a lot of iPads and Retina display MacBooks to add up to $60,000. And maybe there was even a soon-to-be-released iPhone 5 in the mix?
