Mini-er MINI Coopers adorably fetch javelins at the 2012 London Olympics

If you've been following this year's Olympic Games, you may have noticed a cute little car zipping around during the track and field events, shuttling javelins, shots, hammers, and discuses. Those adorable little things are apparently smaller versions — one-fourth scale copies, in fact — of Mini Coopers, aptly called Mini MINIs.

The tiny cars measure roughly 43 inches in length, 20 inches in width, and 16 inches in height, with a payload capacity of almost 18 pounds. Their batteries can endure up to 35 minutes of continuous usage, after which the cars have to be recharged for 80 minutes.

The cars don't have fancy robotic arm mechanisms to pick up equipment, so human officials have to load to them up... which is a shame because it would have been the perfect companion for lazy days when you just can't seem to drag yourself out of bed.
