Hulu Plus is handing out free two-month trials

If you've been on the fence about subscribing to Hulu Plus, today's your day. The movie and TV streaming service is extending a two-month free trial to all new users starting today and running until — well, it hasn't said, so it's best to strike while the iron's hot.

In order to qualify for the free trial, you'll need to set up a new Hulu account using an email address and credit card number not already in the service's system. By signing up, you'll be agreeing to pay $7.99 a month after the free trial expires, so it's important to cancel before that happens if you don't end up wanting a subscription.

For those who don't have — or don't feel safe using — a credit card for the offer, you can also set up the trial account using PayPal or a prepaid debit card, like those offered by Visa and Mastercard. While the free trial seems geared towards Xbox 360 owners, it doesn't seem to matter if you have one of Microsoft's game consoles or not. Right now, the only requirement seems to be a willingness to sign up before the offer disappears.

If you decide to take Hulu up on the offer, you can get a look at some of the latest and best new shows and movies added to the service in our weekly Watch Online series. Of course, there are also some famous films you won't find on Hulu — or any other service — but their selection is still plenty extensive.
