Today in TechDropbox doubling the size of its pro plans, keeping prices the same
If you've been finding the search for the right online storage option a little daunting, Dropbox is hoping to make things easier with an announcement it made today. The popular cloud service is doubling the amount of storage offered on all of its paid plans without upping its prices.
Dropbox's pro accounts will now offer 102GB and 202GB of storage for $99 a year and $199 a year, respectively. Users who are already signed up for its 50GB and 100GB pro plans will see their storage bumped to the new levels by tomorrow.
These changes bring Dropbox's pricing more in line with its competitors, such as Amazon Cloud Drive, Google Drive, Microsoft SkyDrive, and Box. Google and Microsoft are still less expensive options, though, offering 100GB of storage for $60 and $50 a year, respectively. iCloud, Apple's Mac and iOS-specific cloud service, offers up to 50GB of storage for $100 a year.
