Rapper Riff Raff Wants Millions For James Franco’s Copycat ‘Spring Breakers’ Character

By Laura Ferreiro

While it's difficult to say for certain whether James Franco's Spring Breakers character was inspired by rapper Riff Raff's unique persona and fashion sense, there's no doubt they share many similarities. From the cornrows to the gold teeth, it looks like they could be brothers from another mother.

Although Franco has said the main inspiration for his rapper/gangster character, Alien, came from a little-known rapper named Dangeruss, Riff Raff contends that Alien was based on his own likeness and wants to be compensated for it.

The Houston rapper, born Jody Christian, says he wants "8 to 10 million dollars" from the film's creators. "I haven't been compensated for the Spring Breakers interactment yet…so we're seeking 8 to 10 million right now," he told TMZ, without clarifying exactly what an "interactment" is. That said, Riff Raff emphasized that has no beef with Franco himself. "James Franco's cool…it's not about him…I just need my money," he said.

Riff even offered an analogy to clarify his stance: "It's like if I have a front yard. And you're planting soil and you're planting trees and building peaches and houses and selling parking lots on my property, then I deserve to be compensated for some portion of that money," he said.

While we're not sure how any of this is like building peaches on Riff Raff's front yard, it's hard to deny the resemblance when you see the two characters side by side.
