DMX Arrested Again and Released After DUI

DMX was arrested once again on Friday morning and TMZ has posted his latest mug shot to prove it. The rapper's rep claims it was only for suspicion of DUI and he was quickly released, but the official report from the South Carolina Highway Patrol tells a different story.

"Allegations about DMX being arrested for drunk driving are false," X's rep Domenick Nati said in a statement released to Yahoo! Music. "He was arrested early this morning but quickly released. X was given a breathalyzer test and easily passed it. He is back at his home in South Carolina and we are continuing our focus on his upcoming album and acting roles."

According to reports, DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was arrested at approximately 3 a.m. ET, but was released from the Greenville County Detention Center about an hour later.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Sgt. Bob Beres said the highway patrol received a call about "a possible DUI" and Simmons was spotted "driving erratically" in a 1978 Plymouth station wagon.

"The driver, Mr. Earl Simmons, was offered a field sobriety test, which he subsequently failed and was placed under arrest," Beres said in a recorded message. "He was charged with driving under the influence, not having a diver's license, and not wearing a seat belt."

DMX has been piling up more arrests than hits lately, with more than 12 to his name, including one in February for diving without a license.
