Juventus won the Serie A title inside a hotel

Catania's stunning 4-1 win over Roma handed Juventus their third straight Serie A title with three matches left to play. Due to the circumstances, Juve broke out the champagne and commemorative T-shirts at their team hotel as they prepare to play Atalanta on Monday. So instead of partying it up in a stadium dressing room, they soaked a nice rug in a hotel conference room with champagne instead.

Officially, this marks Juve's 30th Scudetto, though the club maintains that it is their 32nd since they count the two titles that were stripped from them because of the Calciopoli scandal. Though Juve will gladly accept the title at their hotel, a McDonald's or in the clogged-up stall of a public bathroom, it's a bit anti-climactic for it to be resolved this way instead of having everything to play for when they face second-place Roma on May 11.

Whether you're celebrating or mourning this news, do take a moment to think about the poor housekeeping staff at that Turin hotel.
