RV camper crashes into backyard swimming pool

A Brockton, Mass., man crashed his RV through a fence on Wednesday and into his neighbor's in-ground swimming pool.

The unidentified 60-year-old man apparently suffered a health problem shortly before the 28-foot camper flew "through a metal fence, some bushes and logs" and into the pool, according to Boston's Fox 25. Aerial video showed the camper partially submerged in the pool.

Neighbors were able to pull the man from the camper before rescue workers arrived. He was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Officials are "still trying to pull the camper out with a crane," the network said, but are "having difficulty because there's not enough room."

While vehicles crashing into pools would seem to be the stuff of action movies, they're not terribly uncommon in real life.

In May, a Lexus was found submerged in a family's swimming pool in La Puente, Calif., after a 40-year-old man drove it through a cinder block wall. The man, Modesto Cabral, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after the 5:25 a.m. one-vehicle crash.
