Reporters getting too close to superstorm Sandy

Journalists by definition are a curious bunch. Weather reporters may take that to the extreme, especially when extreme weather is at hand.

This video covers a montage of intrepid reporters taking some ill-advised moves into superstorm Sandy—all in the service of giving television viewers a sense of how bad it is during the worst of the storm. Yep, it's really bad.

Thankfully, nobody seems to get seriously injured in the footage, but some may be rethinking their choice of career: One reporter is shown having her hat blown off. One is holding on to a fence for dear life. Another seems to have a problem staying on his feet in the strong wind and ankle-deep ocean foam.

Still another woman reporting on a Manhattan street narrowly escapes broken glass, and another gets knocked over by a high-cresting wave.

Enjoy the close calls from Mother Nature during the storm. And please, folks, don't try this at home.
