Daredevils attempt high-line walk between hot air balloons

Spoiler alert: They don't make it.

A group of French daredevils attempted to walk across a high line strung between two hot air balloons. We'd say don't try this at home, but we think that goes without saying.

The four-minute video (below) shows the Skyliners preparing to walk along a wire stretched tightly between two hot air balloons. They attempt the walk—but fail.

Failing? That sounds kind of serious. It is, but fortunately, these folks wore parachutes.

The video is harrowing and not just because of the stunts. One participant is dressed like a terrifying clown. Why? The group's spokesperson Katie Moore told Yahoo News, "That's what he does. He met the Skyliners when they were base jumping in the south of France a couple of years ago, and they have become friends."

Moore described the team as a collective. Two members are engineers. "They put a lot of work into calculating things that will work. They combine their talents and imagination to come up with and develop their ideas."

While none of the parachute-clad participants makes it across, they all seem to have a grand old time in the attempt and vow to give it another shot, according to the clip's epilogue.

As for what it felt like, Moore told Yahoo News the guys "often describe walking the lines and flying as a feeling of being completely free."

It probably goes without saying, but we'll say it just to be safe: Do not try this at home.
