Bolts on the water: Young fisherman nearly struck by lightning

A Texas teen had an incredibly close call with a bolt of lightning while boating on Lake Athens this past weekend.

The video uploaded by 16-year-old Tucker Owings shows just how close he came to being one of the unfortunate souls struck by lightning each year.

The clip is only five seconds long, but that's long enough to serve as a reminder to everyone that when a storm hits, get out of the water right quick. No dilly-dallying.

Commenters on Facebook chimed in with amazement, not only at the footage but also at Owings' good luck.

One person posted, "Watch the storm clouds a little closer next time." And another wrote, "Is there a not-so-subtle lesson to be learned here?"
