007-like squirrel jumps from third-floor window, lands safely

Yahoo! editors have selected this video as a favorite of 2012. It first ran in Yahoo! News in September and eventually tallied more than 3 million views on YouTube. User Marta was a big fan: “They are amazing acrobats and beautiful animals.”

You can't stop this squirrel; you can only hope to contain it. And even that's pretty difficult.

In a video that's sweeping the Web for obvious reasons, a squirrel runs around a third-floor apartment, climbing walls, and generally looking as if it has had too much Red Bull. Then, without warning, it takes a flying leap out the window a la James Bond.

Normally when a small rodent lands on asphalt from a height of 30 or 40 feet, bad things happen. This time, though, the squirrel lands and scampers off to die another day.

We first spotted the video on Reddit. The person who shot the video wrote, "It came through the living room window and got stuck in the kitchen. I opened the kitchen window while I was filming (footage available) and hoped it would climb down from there, I never would've thought it would jump in that manner from that height."

Squirrels and kidsdon't try this at home.
