California, San Francisco Special Weather Statement

Statement as of 3:53 AM PDT on June 01, 2011

Expires 8:00 PM EDT on June 01, 2011
... Late-season storm to impact our area starting Friday...

A strong storm system will move to our coastal waters late on
Friday. Rainfall will spread across our area through the day and
into the evening hours and could be locally heavy at times by
Friday night. Although there is still some uncertainty with the
track of the low... there is increasing confidence that rain will
fall on almost all of our area with the heaviest amounts expected
from the San Francisco Bay northward. The low will stall out over
the waters at least through Saturday which will allow additional
bands of rainfall to move across the San Francisco and Monterey
Bay region. Rainfall totals over the North Bay could approach 2
inches by Saturday night with up to an inch possible around San
Francisco Bay. In addition... strong winds are possible although
where these will occur will greatly depend on the position of the
low.

Persons around the San Francisco and Monterey Bay region with
outdoor or travel plans for Friday and the upcoming weekend should
closely monitor the latest forecasts.
