Paul McDonald & Nikki Reed Premiere Their ‘Twilight’ Theme, New EP At Yahoo!

Two of the most vivacious and voracious fanbases in modern-day entertainment are the Twi-hards and the Idoloonies, so when Twilight actress Nikki Reed and "American Idol" Season 10 finalist Paul McDonald got married last year (following a meet-cute moment captured for all posterity by "Idol" cameras and a whirlwind romance), it truly was a fusion of pop-culture dynasties.

And it wasn't long before the newlyweds' partnership became professional as well as personal: Paul encouraged his bride to pursue her deferred dream of singing, and soon the two were making beautiful music together, literally--culminating in the release of their indie EP, The Best Part, and "All I've Ever Needed," a love duet that's not only on the Twilight: Breaking Dawn 2 soundtrack, but actually plays during the movie's all-important end credits. The song is literally the last impression Twi-hards will have as they leave the theater and the Twilight saga comes to a bittersweet end.

With Breaking Dawn 2 out this week, Nikki was of course in Los Angeles for the massive media blitz, with Paul by her side. And one of their first stops was Yahoo!, where the couple performed "All I've Ever Needed" for the first time ever--technically, it was their "rehearsal" for their subsequent "Late Late Show" performance and their concert for the "tent city" Twi-hards camping out for the premiere in downtown L.A.

The unspeakably cute couple (seriously, Edward and Bella ain't got nothin' and Nikki and Paul) also performed two other acoustic originals from The Best Part, and in a delightful sit-down interview, they discussed their funny first meeting; their secret early courtship away from the prying eyes of "American Idol" chaperones; their decision to record an independent EP without label intervention; Paul's fledgling acting career; and how they actually had to campaign to get on the new Twilight soundtrack alongside more established recording acts like Green Day, Ellie Goulding, Feist, and Christina Perri.
