Joshua Ledet Wows Obamas With White House Performance

Last week, Season 11 "American Idol" finalist Joshua Ledet performed at the White House for President Obama, as part of a PBS "Memphis Soul" special. Among the many other luminaries paying homage to the music of the Tennessee town were Justin Timberlake, Alabama Shakes, Mavis Staples, and Booker T. Jones, but Mantasia definitely held his own with a stunning performance of Percy Sledge’s "When A Man Loves A Woman" that just may have topped his famous "Idol" version.

The delighted expressions on Barack and Michelle Obama's faces, when Joshua hits the money note in the clip below, pretty much says it all. Can't the president use some of his connections to get Joshua's album out, already?

And of course, Joshua received the umpteenth standing ovation of his musical career.

At the event, Joshua also performed "Soul Man" with Sam Moore of Sam & Dave. Both performances are part of the full "Memphis Soul" special running on PBS this week.
