Can BlackBerry survive?

It's been a tough week for BlackBerry, the one-time dominant smartphone company based in Waterloo. The company has laid off 4,500 employees, announced losses of $1 billion and has seen its share price drop from a high of $149 in 2008 to $9. Now the company has been offered a deal to go private by a group of investors led by Fairfax Financial.
