President does schtick? Not a good idea

Calling the bad plays of the week on Politically Foul

Politics is not a game exactly, but there are rules. And when you break them you're running Poltically Foul. We see the plays and call the flags on the field as we see them. And this week in politics there was no shortage of violations — like that moment when President Obama tried to crack a joke during the State of the Union Address.

He said, ""I've ordered every federal agency to eliminate rules that don't make sense. … We got rid of one rule from 40 years ago that could have forced some dairy farmers to spend $10,000 a year proving that they could contain a spill — because milk was somehow classified as an oil. With a rule like that, I guess it was worth crying over spilled milk."

Even the First Lady was groaning at that one.

And what about Sarah Palin's remark that Chris Christie had his "panties in a wad?" We'll call that Blocking Below the Waist — Chris Christie's waist.
