Married Annie: Ashley Monroe Ties the Knot With Her MLB Star
Chicago White Sox pitcher John Danks was probably one of the few major-league baseball pros out there who wasn't watching Game 2 of the 2013 World Series Thursday evening. As it turns out, he was quite busy with something else: Getting married to country star Ashley Monroe!
As reported by People, "Hippie Annie" from the Pistol Annies and Danks exchanged vows in Tennessee with fellow country luminary/"Voice" coach Blake Shelton officiating. Shelton's wife -- and Monroe's Pistol Annies bandmate -- Miranda Lambert served as matron of honor.
The sunset ceremony took place at Blackberry Farm, which is the same locale Kelly Clarkson chose for her October 20 wedding to Brandon Blackstock.
People reported that Monroe arrived to the wedding in a horse-drawn carriage. She chose a custom-made gown by one of her favorite designers, Haute Hippie. The new Mrs. Danks tweeted a photo of her shiny wedding ring on Friday, with an enthusiastic "whoohoo" as notation.
Sorry guys: Monroe's wedding marks the final Annie off the market. Lambert married Shelton in 2011; while the third Pistol Annie, Angaleena Presley, got hitched to Lambert's tour manager Jordan Powell the following year. Monroe and Danks were introduced by a friend in 2011; he proposed to her in September 2012.
