No, this is not a Halloween trick. It's a bona fide treat from the Robertson family: the "Duck Dynasty" crew is releasing a Christmas album October 29, and we've got your first peek at the album right here.
In addition to the requisite camouflage, swampland, decoys, and beards bushier than Santa's on the cover, "Duck the Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas" includes guest appearances from some of country music's biggest names.
Now that we've established the album looks, um, festive, just how big are those country guest stars we mentioned?
Well, try the King of Country himself, George Strait, who joins Phil Robertson for an ode to "Christmas Cookies." Strait is a busy man, currently in the midst of planning his sellout final tour, so this is indeed a treat for the Robertson's stockings.
The Academy of Country Music's currently reigning Entertainer of the Year, Luke Bryan, also makes an appearance, as do Alison Krauss and Josh Turner. Although the track listing features a number of zany-sounding originals (such as "Hairy Christmas," which Bryan performs with Willie Robertson), there are also several classics included (Krauss duets with the teenaged Sadie Robertson on "Silent Night").
"Faith, family, and ducks — in that order — have always been our priorities," Willie Robertson told "Entertainment Tonight" when the album concept was initially introduced back in June. "Christmas is an important holiday for us, not only because of our strong faith, but also our holiday family traditions. We’re having a great time making this album. We hope you enjoy it."
