Man, in attempt to win back ex-girlfriend, starts a hillside message (but then gives up because he got tired)

A hill near Peavine Mountain has, for 100 years, had a large “N” written out with white rocks as a symbol for the University of Nevada, Reno. However, as reported by KOLO News Now 8, a mysterious “A” written in chalk suddenly appeared next to the “N,” and nobody knew why.

It turns out it was a lazy attempt by a Reno resident to win back his ex-girlfriend. Brent Wilbur, who on what we believe to be his LinkedIn account has given himself the title, “King of Reno,” told KOLO that on a moonless night he, “rented a truck, I bought a palette full of marking chalk, actually I bought all they had left…I was trying to write a woman's name, 'Tina,' I started with the 'A' and just ran out of steam.” He said that it took him five and a half hours to create the “A,” and so he pretty much just quit.

So…why was Brent doing this? He wanted to win back his ex, Tina, who according to KOLO is someone “he dated four years ago for a nine month time period.” So obviously, this is as epic a romance as any. He wants to let Tina know, “I owe her a great many apologies for the way I treated her,” and that he has zero regrets even if there are legal consequences.

It looks like he’ll escape punishment for the act, though. The Washoe County Community Services Department, or WCCSD for kinda short, says the letter doesn’t violate codes, and the University of Nevada, Reno will just let nature take away the “A” on its own.

It’s possible this is all just a comedic stunt by Mr. Wilbur. He’s listed on the voice-over talent website, Voices.com. That could mean he’s just a lovelorn guy who also provides voice-overs, but when you combine that with his LinkedIn interests of “wearing my royal robe and making official decrees,” well, you know. KOLO also says that Brent calls himself an entertainer.

As for whether he plans on reinvesting his time into winning back the mysterious Tina, on his LinkedIn profile he writes of the hillside message, “It will be completed, in a way that violates no rules. I will shout Tina's name to man and God alike.”
