Bedazzled tattooed dogs move west

Holiday gift shopping is already well underway, but what can a loving pet owner get for their dog that already has it all? How about a bejeweled temporary tattoo? Yes, that is a thing and according to KKCO 11 News it’s a trend that is working its way towards the Pacific from the Upper East Side of Manhattan which is now available at Paw Prints Grooming in Clifton, Colorado.

Melissa Bibeau is the owner of the grooming business that is ushering the glittery trend west. Melissa provides her clients with an array of creative grooming choices and said, “It’s just kind of a fun way to express your own creativity on your dog."

One of the more colorful services available is “Booty Bling,” which according to the Paw Prints website, “…is a great way to add color to a short-haired or hairless dog.” The groomer also offers feather extensions, both head and body mohawks, nose rings and earrings, which it is noted are simply rhinestones glued on the dog’s nose or ears.

Local Tony Garcia brings his dogs, Sasha and Niesha, to Paw Prints and decided to let his poodles shine for the holidays saying, “I worked in Washington D.C. they had dogs and this and that and they had them fixed every which way that you can think.”

For traditionalists, these treatments may go too far but Melissa, who has been grooming dogs since she was a teenager, says all the products used by Paw Prints are animal safe.
