Adorable kitten trapped in wall is rescued
Chandra Allen and residents at the Haverly Apartments in Stone Mountain, Georgia heard the cries of a cat trapped within the walls of the complex’s building 900.
Chandra heard the whimpers coming from behind the bathroom walls of her boyfriend’s apartment. The concerned woman tried to put the cat she named “Miracle,” at ease by speaking to it through the wall.
When the weekend hit, the leasing office was closed so Chandra and the residents tried to get help from animal control and the Department of Natural Resources. But those agencies were unable to help because the kitten was on private property. Additional calls to police, the fire department, the ASPCA and the Humane Society were unsuccessful. WAGA Fox 5 became aware of the kitten when Chandra contacted the station hoping they could help aid the rescue and fearing Miracle might die before the apartment management stepped in.
Finally maintenance workers arrived and cut a hole in the wall of building 900 and lured the tiny kitten out with food. When Chandra was able to hold the little grey kitten that had been trapped for five days she was overwhelmed exclaiming, “Is that her? Aww! She’s so cute!” Then telling Fox 5, “I thought she was going to be way bigger than this. She’s an itty bit.” Chandra plans on keeping Miracle and giving the kitten a loving home.
