Movie Talk5 Geektastic Things at the Saturn Awards
Superhero juggernaut "The Avengers" brought home the most hardware at the 39th annual Saturn Awards on Wednesday night — celebrating all the genres deemed "geek" in film and television.
Yahoo! Movies spoke to some of the big winners on the red carpet before the ceremony, including the likes of "Avengers" director himself, Joss Whedon, and the guy who lives and dies (and lives again) as Agent Coulson, Clark Gregg.
These are the best of the meta-geek moments from the event, with a little help from Whedon and Gregg:
5. Joss Whedon's 'Howard the Duck' Dreams.
Whedon may have brought home the gold (err, the planet?) for "The Avengers," but if he ever found time to explore anything else in the Marvel universe, what would he tackle? "I think it's time for the 'Howard the Duck' reboot that nobody expects," he responded cheekily.
"Howard the Duck," which is indeed a Marvel property, was adapted into a live action film in 1986 by none other than George Lucas. And yeah, it was a big budget flick that landed right on its bill, barely breaking even at the box office. But hey Joss, why not.

4. Agent Coulson, Everyday Hero Turned Sexy Lady Alien?
Gregg experiences his share of fandom given the popularity of his amicable everyman Agent Coulson (who is coming back to life in the ABC show "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."!) The much beloved Coulson is popular in part due to the fact that he's a regular guy who's able to hold his own in an extraordinary setting, something that everyone, including Gregg himself, admires.
So when we asked Gregg which Marvel superhero he'd like to be, he downplayed the idea, saying, "I like that I'm not a superhero. It'd be a little implausible, and I don't want to eat chicken breasts and spend as much time at the gym as poor [Chris] Hemsworth does."
That said: "But, I was a big… see, I can't say this because these guys are like, giant muscular superheroes, but if I had a magical transformation, I wouldn't mind being Captain Marvel. Although, there's a new Captain Marvel in the comics who's a lady alien, and she's hot. I would be a lady alien Captain Marvel."
Agent Coulson in extraterrestrial drag? Someone whip up the concept art ASAP.

3. Danny Elfman, the Man Behind the Music.
You might not know Danny Elfman by name, but you've definitely heard his work before. Elfman is the man behind the iconic opening tunes of shows like "The Simpsons" and "Desperate Housewives," but he's also a prolific film composer, especially when it comes to Tim Burton features. In fact, he won a Saturn Award for the music in Burton's "Frankenweenie."
Additionally, he has scored films like "Silver Linings Playbook" and "Spider-Man," making him one of the most versatile guys in the biz. Rock on, Danny Elfman.
2. Invasion of the Ewoks!
These two red carpet attendees were in huge demand all night, as actors and directors kept calling everybody's favorite cuddly "Star Wars" characters over to take photos with them. Just goes to show: It's impossible to have a geek-centric event without SOMETHING "Star Wars"-related.
There's only one thing that can upstage Ewoks…
1. R2-D2 glams it up for the RC
No one really knows why R2 was there. Does it matter? Absolutely not. The little robot beeped and booped his way down the red carpet, occasionally letting out an iconic scream to the delight (and surprise) of everybody there. Beep boop to you too, R2.
