The LookoutWisc. Senate OKs arrest of missing senators
Two weeks after 14 Democratic Wisconsin state senators fled the state, their colleagues back in the state capital of Madison have voted to hold them in contempt. The Wisconsin Senate passed a resolution ordering police to hold the senators in custody, the AP reports.
The Wisconsin State Journal says the move may violate the state constitution, which prohibits the arrest of state legislators during session unless they're suspected of felonies or other serious crimes.
The Democrats say they won't return from Illinois unless Gov. Scott Walker agrees to back off his proposal to end collective bargaining rights for many public-sector workers. The unions have agreed to Walker's proposed pension and health care cuts.
