Video: Footage shows Florida sinkhole the morning after

A newly released video offers a stomach-churning look at the 60-foot sinkhole that swallowed a man in his sleep earlier this year.

Jeff Bush was killed when the sinkhole opened up underneath his bed in Seffner, Fla. Though no video could properly illustrate the terror Bush must have felt, the footage does give viewers an idea of the hole's immense size.

In the footage, shot by a contractor who fastened a small camera to a pole and then held it over the sinkhole, nearly all the bedroom furniture is gone, but the wall decorations hang as if nothing had happened.

Rachel Wicker, who was in the house when the sinkhole appeared, spoke with WFTS in Tampa about the footage, shot the morning after the accident. Wicker said the hole looks "totally different" from the night Bush died.

That's due, according to experts who spoke with WFTS, to the continued deterioration of the sinkhole's walls. Initially, the walls were tiered, but as the night progressed, the soft walls became more vertical.

Jeremy Bush, Jeff's brother, was next door when it happened. "The floor was still giving in and the dirt was still going down, but I didn't care. I wanted to save my brother," he said. "I could hear him screaming for me, hollering for me. I couldn't do nothing."
