The LookoutCEO pay shoots back up
It had been a rough few years for CEOs--at least by their customary pay standards. But not to worry: Good times appear to be here again for the denizens of the executive suite.
In news that will likely add to the debate over widening inequality, CEO pay shot up by 27 percent last year, according to a survey by the corporate governance organization GMI Ratings, the Guardian reports. In 2009 and 2008, CEO earnings were broadly flat, in the wake of the financial crisis and economic slump.
The country's highest paid CEO, John Hammergren of healthcare provider McKesson, took home a cool $145.2 million.
