Boy donates birthday presents to toy drive

Birthday parties are usually when kids rake in the loot. But Chase Branscum gave away all the gifts he received—all 500 of them. The generous-minded resident of Owasso, Okla., decided to turn his eighth-birthday celebration into a toy drive for Toys for Tots.

"I already have toys and other kids don't," Branscum told news station Fox23.

Local business owner Danny Stockton of Red Dot Laser Tag heard about the toy drive and offered to get involved, and Chase's Red Dot Laser Tag Party benefiting Owasso Toys for Tots was created. The 100 or so partygoers, who all made donations, were treated to laser tag and snacks.

Michelle Hayes, the coordinator for the Owasso chapter of Toys for Tots, told Fox234 that "[we'll] probably give gifts to around 2,000 children."

Branscum's mom got a present, too: her son's kindhearted spirit. "You want to raise your child to be generous and to think of someone other than themselves," Tiffany Rowe told the station. "Him doing this was a gift to me."
