The original domestic diva Erma Bombeck penned a plethora of sidesplitting one-liners about the life of a wife, but one of my favorites is, "My idea of housework is to sweep the room with a glance."

I'm not exactly the world's best housekeeper, but there is something satisfying about cleaning out clutter and the good feeling that comes with being better organized and junk free.

But, as they say in the acting world, what's my motivation?  It's a lot of work to clean out closets and attics…so here's an incentive: You can get some cold hard cash for your trash. That ancient iPod you never use? It could get you over $100 from Gazelle.com, proving the adage that one man's trash may in fact be another man's treasure.
