"Glee" is back — and the cast and crew don't want you to forget it.
Creator Ryan Murphy and star Lea Michele have been tweeting up a storm, releasing teaser photos and tidbits, in an effort to promote the Fox musical.
"Glee" may need the help. The Season 5 premiere had disappointing ratings — it was 30 percent down from last year's fall debut.
The premiere was the first of two highly publicized Beatles-themed episodes and featured a tender marriage proposal from Blaine (Darren Criss) to Kurt (Chris Colfer). But despite this, and the buzz surrounding the show following the death of star Cory Monteith, the episode drew only 5.2 million viewers and a 3.2 share in the coveted 18-49 demographic. Last year's premiere netted a 5.0 share.

The "Glee" machine is already revving up to turn those ratings around. Last night, Michele tweeted a behind-the-scenes photo of the cast with Adam Lambert and Demi Lovato:
Lovato shows up next week, in the second Beatles episode, to start a major arc as a love interest for Santana (Naya Rivera).

Meanwhile, Lambert is joining the cast starting in Episode 4. As Colfer revealed on "Live With Kelly and Michael" last month, "He's going to play my nemesis."
Lady Gaga tweeted that the "American Idol" singer will be covering her latest tune, "Applause":
@CissatrixShow yes I heard Adam Lambert is doing it I'm so excited! He's very talented and perfect for the song cause he's glammer— Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) September 20, 2013
As for Episode 3, that will be the tribute show for Monteith. Murphy tweeted a gorgeous poster featuring the late actor, who died of a drug overdose this summer:
As Murphy has said, Monteith's character, Finn Hudson, will die in the episode, though not of a drug overdose. However, addiction will play a part in the story, and cast members filmed antidrug PSAs to air during the broadcast.
"Glee" airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Fox.
