MSNBC’s Chuck Todd apologizes for giving finger on-air

MSNBC political director Chuck Todd has apologized for an off-camera gesture that was caught on-camera.

Todd, standing alongside "Meet The Press" host David Gregory, was shown giving the finger to someone off-camera during Wednesday's "Morning Joe" as the talk show went to break.

"The camera is always on," Todd wrote on Twitter. "A lesson some of us never learn. My apologies. Am personally embarrassed. Was a joke with someone on other side." That someone was probably not Donald Trump, who recently berated Todd on-air during an exchange on Todd's own MSNBC show, "The Rundown."

Chuck, of course, is not alone. Last month, a Russian news host nearly caused an international incident when she gave the finger to the camera while reading a report that mentioned U.S. President Barack Obama.

Like Todd, she reportedly did not know she was on air, and had directed it to someone off-camera.
