Erin Burnett: CNN had to run ‘OutFront’ through legal because gay and lesbian groups had used name

"Well, I will say that when we ran it through legal, there were some gay and lesbian groups who have used that name. But, hey, they're out there pushing the envelope, and so are we, so that link is absolutely great as far as I'm concerned."

—Erin Burnett, host of CNN's "OutFront," when asked by the Improper Bostonian if she agreed that the name of her primetime program sounds "like a lesbian issues show." Since launching this fall, Burnett's show has struggled to live up to its name, ratingswise, lagging well behind Fox News' Shepard Smith and MSNBC's Chris Matthews in the 7 p.m. time slot.

When asked by the magazine if Fox News is "fair and balanced," Burnett said: "It's a great moniker."
