It is the one year anniversary of Sandy, the superstorm that left some places looking so bad that it could have happened yesterday. But after all the debris and mess behind us, we’ve got great stories.
ABC News meteorologist Ginger Zee is reporting from Ortley Beach, New Jersey, just north of Seaside Heights, home of the famous roller coaster and boardwalk that that was torn apart by the storm. But the boardwalk is back all up and down the Jersey Shore, leading some great stories of recovery.
But there are also a lot of stories tied up in insurance claims and FEMA problems. Near the boardwalk you can see the debris of business that have still not recovered, a symbol of the struggle and recovery that has played out over the last year.
