Justin Bieber Irked By Black Keys Drummer, Says He Should Be ‘Slapped Around’

If you haven't heard by now: Justin Bieber is upset that he was shut out of the 2013 Grammys. And the superstar isn’t taking kindly to those who suggest he really doesn’t have much to complain about.

When Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney—whose band scooped up four Grammy Awards on Sunday—told TMZ that Bieber should be happy because “The Grammys are for music, not money…he’s making a lot of money,” the Biebs responded swiftly on Twitter.

“The black keys drummer should be slapped around,” he tweeted.

Bieber softened his statement somewhat by adding “haha” at the end, but…well, we all know how these sorts of social media wars go.

Fan response was swift, with the expected plentiful support from Beliebers—although many took Bieber to task for being rude and promoting violence.

For his part, Carney responded to Bieber’s tweet with a frowning emoticon, following it with a string of retweets from angry Bieber fans. Sentiments ranged from mere disapproval (“I no longer like you nor do I like your band”) to actual rage (“HE NEEDS A PUNCH IN THE FACE WITH A BRICK,” read one).

Carney also attempted to indirectly explain his comment about Bieber and the Grammys, tweeting, "It's cool when you get cornered outside your hotel by a guy with a camera and they ask you a dumb question and then put it on TV," adding another frowning emoticon.

What do you think? Did Justin cross a line, or is it clear that he was just kidding around? Did Patrick go too far with his insinuation that Justin isn’t a real musician—just a rich one? Be sure to let us know what you think.
