Zooey Deschanel has split from her husband, Death Cab for Cutie singer Ben Gibbard, after two years of marriage.
Deschanel’s publicist Lauren Auslander confirmed the split Tuesday, saying that the separation is “amicable,” with “no third party involved,” according to The Associated Press. The split was originally reported by US Weekly.
The actress, 31, known for her appearances in the comedies “Elf” and “(500) Days of Summer,” has recently found success with her Fox sitcom “New Girl,” which was picked up for a full season — although new episodes were held back for the World Series and episodes of “The X-Factor.”
Elsewhere she has found success with her band She & Him, which just released a Christmas record, while recently she performed the national anthem at the World Series.
Gibbard, 35, has fronted the indie rock band Death cab for Cutie since 1997. In 2004 the band began to find mainstream success and signed to Atlantic records. Their 2008 record “ Narrow Stair” was their first album to reach No.1 on the Billboard charts.
