Televised Car Chase Becomes Reality for One Viewer

Jason Lee, a 35-year-old IT contractor from the UK, was watching a police pursuit on television from the lobby of his hotel in Los Angeles when the view out his window suddenly became better than the one being broadcast from the news chopper.

Lee was filming the chase off the television screen then looked out the window to see the car make a sharp right onto his street.

"We could hear the sirens approaching so I panned to the window expecting to see them fly by down West Century Boulevard," Lee told ABC News. "I was a bit surprised to see the car coming around the corner at a fast speed."

The pursuit lasted about two hours and the suspect was eventually taken into custody without incident.
