ABC News' Natasha Singh reports:
Is the fire dying in one of Hollywood's hottest romances? That's the question that rocked the twittersphere over the weekend after a series of lovelorn tweets from Miley Cyrus, 19, who recently got engaged to actor Liam Hemsworth.
The tweets began Thursday, with the searching, teasing question, "ever feel like you want just…. something more. not sure what exactly… passion perhaps?"
The wistful tweets kept coming. "Sometimes i feel like i love everyone more than they love me. hatttte [sic] that feeling," Cyrus mused, followed by: "Thought of the day: maybe it's not that they love you less, they just love you the most they are capable of loving."
Who was the mysterious "they"? Cyrus' fans and followers were left wondering. Could it be Hemsworth?
Cyrus and Hemsworth announced their engagement in June, after dating for three years. Now, just three months later, her tweets seemed to suggest the road could already have gotten rocky. In the age of the 72-day marriage and other brief flings, Hollywood romances can turn on a dime.
But Cyrus soon put her nearly nine million followers at ease, tweeting, "& no there is not trouble in paradise…. just thoughts." Her final tweet of the day affirmed that her relationship with Hemsworth was not - or at least no longer - in trouble: "having some quality fiancé time. just what I needed ?"
Adding a powerful image to illustrate those 53 characters, the pair was photographed hand-in-hand Saturday night.
If those tweets weren't about her relationship, what was bugging Cyrus? It's been a wild few weeks for the former "Hannah Montana" star: a scissors-carrying stalker arrested outside her home last week; a rumored bar brawl; and the newly punked-out pop princess undergoing a drastic change in her appearance.
Or maybe it was something more mundane. Her last tweet before her sour rant? "Migraines suck."
