Kris Humphries and long-term relationships don't seem to mix.

Just a day before the next hearing in the Kim Kardashian-Kris Humphries divorce saga, Humphries' attorney, Marshall Waller, filed a motion to be relieved as counsel.

Calling it an "irremediable breakdown of the attorney-client relationship," Waller blamed irreconcilable differences as the reason for exiting the case, according to court documents. These exact differences will remain under wraps to protect attorney-client privilege, until the motion goes to court.

Kardashian also cited the same explanation when filing for divorce from Humphries after their infamous 72-day marriage in 2011.

Waller's departure could further delay the former reality couple's divorce proceedings. Court documents indicate the hearing on Waller's motion will not be held until late March.

If the motion is granted, Humphries must immediately find new representation.

Kardashian returned to court on Friday morning regarding her request for a trial date to be set as soon as possible. The future mother of Kanye West's first child has expressed her desire to be legally single before giving birth in July. Humphries, a player for the NBA's Brooklyn Nets, wants the case to be held until the basketball season is over.

Kardashian filed for divorce from Humphries on Dec. 31, 2011, and a date has yet to be set for the trial. Superior Court Judge Stephen Moloney has stated that the dispute should be ready for trial sometime this year.
